Purpose The purpose of this study was to develop a prediction model for Koreans in their 30s and 40s diagnosed with hypertension, aimed at determining whether they take medication and implement non-pharmacological therapies to manage hypertension Method This study is a descriptive research using secondary data from the 2023 Community Health Survey. The subjects included 3,994 individuals in their 30s and 40s diagnosed with hypertension in South Korea. Decision tree analysis was applied to construct prediction models. To validate the prediction models, split-sample tests were conducted Results The findings demonstrated that 25.3% of participants were practicing both medication and non-pharmacological therapies for hypertension management. Individuals who knew their blood pressure levels were in their 40s, and had received hypertension management education had the highest likelihood (35.1%) of utilizing both approaches. Conversely, individuals who were unaware of their blood pressure levels and in their 30s, only 8.2% implemented both methods. Conclusion It is needed to prioritize hypertension management for high-risk group consisting of individuals in their 30s who did not know their blood pressure levels to support in effectively managing hypertension.
