Abstract

This article discusses basic mobile robot applications exploring the capabilities of the LIMO platform of AgileX Robotics . Such a platform is compact and open-source, making it valuable for limited workspaces, which is common at most labs. Moreover, it stands out for being affordable enough even for low-budget labs. The study includes various examples of using such a platform, such as accomplishing trajectory-tracking tasks, controlling the navigation of multi-robot systems, and using laser and camera sensors for navigation and mapping. The possibility of integrating a more powerful Jetson Xavier board into the LIMO platform to conduct more robust and advanced experiments is also explored. Therefore, the main contribution of the study is to show the potential of the LIMO platform as an educational and research tool for active learning in robotics, offering a practical and accessible solution for students and researchers.
