Today, many hemodialysis patients suffer from stress caused by their disease. Therefore, the present study was conducted aimed to investigate the effect of training intervention based on transactional model on stress management and sleep quality of hemodialysis patients in 2022. This study was a quasi-experimental conducted from September to February 2021 for 6 months in Bam city hospitals, Kerman province. A total of 105 people participated in this research. 53 people were placed in the test group and 52 people in the control group by simple random method. The test group received training (teaching coping skills and sleep quality) for 6 weeks. Data collection tools included 4 questionnaires (demographic information, PSQI sleep quality, Balderi stress, and coping efforts). The average age of the participants was 57.12 ± 13.25 years. After the educational intervention, the average score of coping efforts, sleep quality and stress management of the patients showed a significant change in the investigated time periods (P < 0.001). The findings indicate the effectiveness of the design and implementation of the training program based on the Lazarus and Folkman model on the stress management and sleep quality of hemodialysis patients. Therefore, this model can be used to promote health and improve quality of life, especially in relation to stress management in chronic diseases.
