Unravelling Migration Dynamics: A Socio-economic Examination of Bihar’s Kosi Division Migration Phenomenon

This research paper attempted to unravel the process of the migration phenomenon by focusing on the socio-economic aspects of migration patterns and migration decisions. The Kosi division of Bihar exhibits a distinct setting for analyzing these factors, as the region is annually ravaged by the flooding impact of the River Kosi and its allied river system. The research study employed a mixed-methods approach by integrating both quantitative and qualitative data sets to examine migration and its societal and economic impacts. The data was collected through the survey questionnaire method and structured interview schedules with the migrants of the Kosi division of Bihar.
