Abstract

Blockchain technology regarded as the distributed ledger technology is considered as of high potentials on economic and social transformations. Nevertheless, despite the growing interest there has been slowed adoption in organizational project management practices which beg the issue to understanding the phenomenon behind its slowed adoption. The current study aims to examine all relevant literature of integrating blockchain technology into project management, focusing on organizational change management and legal compliance challenges. The study included 19 articles published between 2019 and 2024. Findings revealed significant environmental, technological, and organizational factors that greatly impacted blockchain adoption. Its legal compliance to accord data security alongside smart contracts were also evident. This study also noted some research gaps to warrant future exploration.
