This study investigates the use of information literacy and library resources for enhancing Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) among undergraduate students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Nigeria. The purpose of the study is to identify effectiveness of information literacy instruction in MOOCs, types of library resources used by students in MOOCs and challenges facing application of information literacy and library resources for students’ participation in MOOCs. Descriptive survey design was adopted and the population of the study covers undergraduate students of the Faculty of Education only. Purposive sampling technique was used to determine the sample size of the study. A total of one hundred and sixty (160) questionnaires were distributed to the respondents, and out of which one hundred and twenty six (126) were returned and used for the analysis. Results of the study revealed that majority of the respondents were female students. It also indicated that majority of the respondents were using smart phones for access to MOOCs. With regards to effectiveness of information literacy on MOOCs, result shows that information literacy enhances students’ usage of MOOCs and helps them in selecting appropriate MOOCs as an online learning platform. The result of the study indicated some challenges of information literacy and use of library resources for MOOCs among students. These include limited access to electronic resources, poor Internet connection, time limitation and lack of library App for teaching information literacy. The study recommends among others that the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Library should provide online learning materials, high speed Internet connection, Wi-Fi system and encourage students to utilize their time for meaningful MOOCs activities.
