Sparganosis is reported for the first time in a Dicroglossid frog collected from Jharkhand, India. The species was identified morphologically as Spirometra sp. and the parasites were recovered from Minervarya pierrei (Dubois, 1975), majorly infecting the thigh muscles. The morphological examination of the parasite has been provided. Further screening of infected amphibians in the field as well as the occurrence of such parasites in the infected amphibians in the museum collections is warranted to understand the prevalence of sparganosis in the intermediate hosts, i.e., amphibians, in India.
