The research paper studies the mechanical properties of roller compacted concrete with different percentages of pumice to produce LWRCC. The problem statement investigates the effects of adding light weight aggregate to concrete mixtures, analyzing how these aggregates influence compressive strength, abrasion resistance, and impact resistance of the roller compacted concrete. Specifically, the study aims to determine the optimal pumice content to improve impact and abrasion resistance without compromising compressive strength in roller compacted concrete. Replacing coarse aggregates with pumice effectively reduced concrete density, with the highest reduction occurring at 100% replacement. However, this also led to decreased strength compared to the reference mix.
