The active fault tolerance algorithm design via adaptive sliding mode observer for synchronous motor with stator winding cut and angular velocity sensor faults

The fault tolerance algorithm with adaptive sliding mode observer is provided for the synchronous motor in this paper. First, the nonlinear mathematical model of synchronous motor is built, where multiple faults and electromagnetism nonlinearities are considered simultaneously. Then, an adaptive sliding mode observer for fault reconstruction is designed, where the case of fault information unknown is considered, and the robust fault reconstruction conclusion for the stator winding cut is obtained. Thirdly, the active fault tolerance control law is presented, where the sliding mode control algorithm is added in the law, and the algorithms of d-axis and q-axis control voltage for the motor are provided. Finally numerical and experiment results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the controller proposed in this paper.
