Abstract

Digital banking has advanced significantly over the last 20 years. However, many existing studies don’t cover the full scope of this topic. This study seeks to fill that gap by analysing 1,959 research papers on digital banking published between 1983 and 2020. Using techniques like bibliometric analysis, science mapping, and network analysis, it examines patterns and connections in the research. It also uses machine learning to provide new insights and identify key relationships within the field. The paper offers five key findings and their implications from this extensive review, highlighting areas for future research. It is unique in its thorough examination of such a large collection of studies and its efforts to propose a forward-looking research framework.
