The aim of the current research was to identify the components of intercultural competencies among academic staff members. This study employed a qualitative approach using the meta synthesis, following the seven-step process outlined by Sandelowski and Barroso. Initially, valid articles published between 2010 and 2024 were extracted. After preliminary reviews, 31 articles were selected for more in-depth analysis, and components related to the intercultural competencies of faculty members were identified through open, axial, and selective coding methods. The study identified intercultural competencies across three main themes: Knowledge (including cultural knowledge, self-awareness, and the development of linguistic and metalinguistic knowledge), Mindset (encompassing attitude), and Skill (comprising self-management, effective communication, conflict management, and personal characteristics). In total, 47 components were identified and presented. Faculty members with intercultural competence are better equipped to prepare students for growth in diverse environments, ultimately fostering social cohesion and enhancing cultural understanding.
