Abstract

A new Wilkinson Power Divider microstrip structure along with design equations has been represented in this paper. The proposed structure replaces the section of a quarter wavelength impedance transformer of a conventional power divider by a multisection coupled line with considerable bandwidth improvement. The new structure is simulated and fabricated using derived design equations for arbitrary selected frequencies 1 GHz and 2.3 GHz with a frequency ratio of 2.3. A high power division ratio of 6.85 is selected based on the available RF resistor 150 Ω. Simulated and measured outputs are presented and a good bandwidth performance is achieved.
