Abstract

The chemical, mechanical, and electrochemical stabilities of composite membranes are pivotal to boost their filtering performance and application. This research is centered on the development of a composite membrane, from polyvinylpyrrolidone (25%) supported zirconium phosphate and zeolite (ZP+Ze). The membrane potential was evaluated using KCl, NaCl, NaNO3, and KNO3, electrolyte solutions to characterize the ion-transport phenomena over the charged membrane. The analysis showed that by transporting positive ions, the membrane manifests cation selectivity. For a given electrolyte, the sequence of potential values followed the trend KNO3
