Cooperation and coordination between mobile nodes (vehicles) and static nodes (roadside infrastructure) are crucial in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs). Rapid topological modifications and the perception and transmission of physical environment parameters are the main problems of VANETs. Effective routing is a difficult problem in VANETs because to the vehicles' selfishness and the absence of a central coordinator. Effective routing requires optimal resource allocation, and this work suggested the DI-AODV model to boost VANET performance. In DI-AODV model, AODV protocol is modified by using Dijkstra Shortest Path Algorithm. Then, Data Replication method which is Sustainable Data Management Scheme is provided to ensure data delivery. The experimental result shows the proposed DI-AODV model provides better performance compared with other existing protocols in VANET.
