Abstract

Goal programming is a particular branch of operation research that is used to solve many problems where multiple goals or objectives are to be taken into account. In order to increase the efficacy of the conventional intuitionistic goal programming method, a new approach is presented in this paper, where a score function of the pythagorean fuzzy sets has been introduced. This paper presents the proof of convergence criterion for this new method, as well as a theorem illustrating the failure of the conventional intuitionistic goal programming method to optimize several problems. Lastly, to demonstrate the proposed method, a case study of a supply chain management problem using the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach has been taken. The outcomes of the case study show that the proposed technique outperforms the conventional intuitionistic goal programming method in terms of efficacy.
