Abstract

Nasal myiasis, a rare parasitic infestation caused by fly larvae can lead to severe complications such as orbital cellulitis if left untreated. We present a case of a 55-year-old female with nasal myiasis and orbital cellulitis secondary to maggot infestation, successfully managed with a multidisciplinary approach and adjunctive therapy with ivermectin. This case report highlights the efficacy of ivermectin in the treatment of nasal myiasis and provides a comprehensive literature review on its mechanism of action and clinical use in similar cases.
