Stroke is a leading cause of death and morbidity in individuals in Bangladesh, and the prevalence of stroke among young adults is increasing. Hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, obesity, and smoking are the frequent risk factors; haematologic disorders, premature atherosclerosis, vasculopathy, and arteritis are the rare causes. High cost of intervention, lack of trained human resources and poor infrastructure are a few of the treatment barriers. As there is limited availability of neurologists and well-equipped hospitals in Bangladesh, we are in urgent need to reduce the risk of stroke among young people. This editorial shows rare vasculopathy and presents an account of current understanding about the causes and pathophysiology as well as challenges to diagnosing or treating stroke in young individuals in Bangladesh. There was also talk of programmers designed to aid young stroke survivors and their families. By scrutinizing familial history and subclinical vascular disease, studies of prospective cohorts – such as the Norwegian Stroke in the Young Study – provide essential knowledge about how to improve prevention and early treatment. Recommendations encompass advanced neuroimaging for risk assessment, incorporation of patient treatment and rehabilitation into medical training, and relevant research, as well as promotion of healthy living by way of campaigns and education for healthcare staff.
