Abstract

Mpox virus lineages associated with sustained human-to-human transmission, Clade Ib/sh2023 and Ia/sh2024, are co-circulating in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). We report the first two Clade IIb/sh2017 cases identified in DRC, imported from West Africa and locally transmitted, with phylogenetic linkage to the ongoing outbreak in Sierra Leone.
