Abstract

Steel reinforcement corrosion is a predominant cause of deterioration in reinforced concrete structures, significantly impacting their service life and structural integrity. This review focuses specifically on the various methods used to evaluate the corrosion of steel rebars. It categorizes the techniques into electrochemical, physical, and advanced non-destructive approaches, emphasizing their principles, advantages, limitations, and field applicability. This paper aims to provide a comparative overview that assists in selecting appropriate evaluation strategies for different structural conditions.
