Background:Oligospermia refers to semen with a low sperm count. WHO reassessed sperm criteria and established a lower reference point, less than 15 million sperm/ml . Infertility and problems of impaired fecundity have been a concern through ages and is also a significant clinical problem today, which affects 8–12% of couples worldwide. Of all infertility cases, approximately 40–50% is due to “male factor” infertility and as many as 2% of all men exhibit suboptimal sperm parameters. As per the WHO, the overall prevalence of primary infertility ranges between 3.9% and 16.8% in India.Homoeopathy is also a line of treatment for oligospermia but not yet explored in domain of sperm motility and sperm morphology. Material and Methods: It was an interventional, single arm, open label, non-randomized, experimental study showing the efficacy of the homoeopathic preparation of constitutional medicine which was administered in the stat dose. The prior of recruitment the informed consent from was filled up and details of trail were explained. The parameters used in assessing the data were count of sperm, sperm morphology, sperm motility, The data was analysed with the help of Microsoft excel and Graph Pad Prism Version 7.0 (academic). And Appropriate test of significance for instance parametric students paired ‘t’ test was used. The possible data for homoeopathic remedies was presented as n (%).Result: There was statistically significant (p=0.0013) improvement observed in total sperm count, (p= 0.0027) observed in active sperm motility, (p= 0.0119) increase observed in sluggish sperm motility, (p= 0.0006) reduction observed in % of non motile sperms, (p<0.0001) observed in normal sperms, (p<0.0001) reduction observed in % of abnormal sperms. Cumulative rate of conception:Out of 10 male individuals participated in this study, 2 (20%) female partners were conceived during the study all these results were observed after administration of the homeopathic constitutional medicine Conclusion: The present investigation though provides a statistically significant results, the external validity of the results is limited because of low sample size. For further investigation are needed of the large-scale study to show the significant results in the case of Oligozoospermia.
