This study evaluates media students’ knowledge of occupational safety procedures in Yemeni universities. Using a field‐survey design, an online questionnaire was administered via snowball sampling to 167 respondents. Results indicate that 66.5\% of participants perceive journalism in Yemen as a high‐risk profession. Respondents cited diverse sources of safety knowledge—academic coursework, hands‐on experience, online resources, formal training, and industry safety guides. While 81.4\% of students affirmed the critical importance of following workplace safety protocols, 41.9\% reported that their universities do not adequately prioritize safety training. Among those surveyed, 73.1\% attributed this shortfall to a lack of institutional resources, and only 42.5\% confirmed that “occupational safety” is formally included in their curricula. Overall, students demonstrated a moderate understanding of safety procedures, with an average comprehension score of 2.67 out of 5.
