Abstract

We explore the post-Newtonian formalism in cosmology, using a system of constituent equations that includes a modified first Friedmann equation—incorporating its homogeneous counterpart—alongside the classical Poisson equation. Furthermore, we include the dynamical equations arising from stress-energy tensor conservation. Within this framework, we examine stellar equilibrium under spherical symmetry. By specifying the equation of state, we derive the corresponding equilibrium configurations. Finally, we investigate gravitational collapse in this context.
