Introduction: Over the past decade, the field of implant dentistry has experienced a paradigm shift driven by technological innovations in imaging and materials science. Advanced imaging techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) have enhanced diagnostics, whereas 3D printing and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) have revolutionized the planning and execution of dental implants. The development of biomaterials such as titanium alloys and zirconia-based implants has significantly improved their biocompatibility and aesthetic outcomes. The recent introduction of biomimetic materials, nanoengineered coatings, and polymer-based alternatives reflects a trend toward more sophisticated implant solutions tailored for improved clinical results. Types of studies: This review compiles findings from a variety of research formats, including case studies, cohort studies, systematic reviews, experimental and observational randomized controlled trials, and other peer-reviewed documents.
