Abstract

CannabinoidHyperemesisSyndrome (CHS) is commonly framed as a paradoxical gastrointestinal reaction to chronic cannabis use. Clinically, however, CHS displays a pattern that is far more consistent with a complex neuroendocrine and metabolic disorder than a primary gut pathology. Patients show delayed onset after years of heavy use, early-morning exacerbations tied to the cortisol awakening response, cyclic symptom flares, autonomic instability, and characteristic relief from hot bathing.
