Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected all walks of life and caused changes in major sectors of the economy. It has disrupted the education sector and has impacted students all over the world. This paper aims at analyzing the impact of Covid-19 on education and its impact on student well-being and mental health. The perception of students, teachers and parents have been taken into consideration while examining the same. The paper finds that, digital learning infrastructure is not developed, and educational institutions and governments over the globe were caught off-guard due to this switch from offline to online mode. It also finds that the well-being and mental health of students has been negatively impacted due to this switch. While, considering the impact on Indian education, the paper finds that the urban and rural socio-economic divide has increased, with rural India suffering a great deal due to lack of digital infrastructure. Learning loss was found more amongst younger students compared to their seniors. The paper also covers the research gap of the literature reviews and discusses the way to the future regarding the education sector.
