Abstract

This article examines the phenomenon of "youth selectivity" in Nigerian governance through a historical lens, drawing parallels between ancient political philosophies and contemporary governing practices. The youth, often considered the hope of the nation, are increasingly selective in their political engagements, leading to an apparent disillusionment with established political figures and systems. This study employs a multidisciplinary approach, integrating political theory, sociology, and cultural studies, focusing on the implications of youth Nigeria. It argues that while the political engagement of youth is vital for societal progress, their selective nature can also perpetuate cycles of disenfranchisement and instability if not aligned with inclusive and representative governance structures.
