Gut microbiota plays a crucial role in the outcome of cholera. In this context, Paracoccus aminovorans , a gut commensal, has been evidenced to positively influence the pathogenesis of cholera bacterium. In the present study, we examined the impact of various non-antibiotic strategies on the growth of Paracoccus aminovorans . We observed the growth of Paracoccus aminovarans was severely restricted in the presence of L-ascorbic acid as well as in co-culture growth assays with another gut commensal, Weissella confusa .
