The Indian Cancer Genome Atlas: A Multi-Omics Resource for Advancing Cancer Research

The Indian Cancer Genome Atlas (ICGA) has launched a multi-omics data portal and released the first clinically correlated molecular dataset of Indian breast cancer patients, specifically focusing on ER/PR-positive and HER2-negative subtypes. This comprehensive resource integrates whole-genome sequencing, transcriptomics, proteomics, and extensive clinical annotations, representing the first systematic cancer genomics effort for the Indian population. ICGA, through its pan-India consortium, has established a collaborative network of cancer hospitals, research institutions, private bodies, clinicians, researchers, and data analysts across India. The ICGA data portal, built on the cBioPortal framework , allows seamless access to multi-omics data and provides tools for visualization and analysis. This manuscript highlights the ICGA initiative’s significance, its unique dataset, and its potential for driving personalized oncology and bridging global disparities in cancer research.
