We only assume initial vaccine allocation predominately to the elderly and a subset of younger health care workers to match current plans. While we make general projections about single versus double vaccination, we do not consider the specifics of vaccine scheduling and delays in accrued protection against infection. We also assume no waning immunity following natural infection or vaccination, and do not include the possibility of added protection in people who are first infected and then vaccinated. Rapid loss of immunity would enhance the need to vaccinate quickly. Rapid institution of partial lockdown and vaccination will remain the two key strategies to limit deaths and number of days under lockdown.
