Results from LimitationRecognizer: We detected the following sentences addressing limitations in the study:Our study has several important limitations. First, our travel data are limited to incoming passengers from the UK, which will miss the potential for introductions from other countries where B.1.1.7 may be circulating. We limited our analysis to the UK for flight originations as this was the only known region where B.1.1.7 was dominant at the time of our analysis. Furthermore, our analysis did not account for the likelihood of transmission among the different regions in the US. As COVID-19 cases were at or near their peak across the country, our assumption was that transmission potential was high everywhere, and that the numbers of potentially infected travelers was a more significant factor. In reality, local conditions and behaviors play an important role for B.1.1.7 establishment, and could explain why cases are low in some states. Finally, our SARS-CoV-2 genomic data suggest that domestic spread and community transmission have been established in many places across the US, but the significant undersampling that we discuss throughout this manuscript highlights that we are missing several important pieces to this story. This suggests that some of our estimated transitions and estimated timings of introductions will likely need to be revisited when more data are available. The SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.7 variant of concern has become established in many states within the US. We must use this opportunity to reinforce communications and messaging surrounding the importance of mitigatio...
